At The Carnegie Recital Hall (Weill)

Purpose

To advance the careers of deserving artists, Pro Piano has established a recital award program promoting superlative pianists.

Awards

One Piano Recitalist (or Pianist with Chamber Ensemble) will be awarded $3000.00 and a fully sponsored recital at The Carnegie Recital Hall, using an excellent Hamburg Steinway D from Pro Piano.
Any Recitalist residing more than 500 miles from New York City when submitting his/her original application will be given another $1000.00 for transportation and lodging. The Recitalist may be named The 2001 Pro Piano Artist of the Year, and if so named will be awarded a CD recording contract with Pro Piano Records.

Eligibility

The right to audition for inclusion in The Pro Piano New York Recital Series 2001 is extended to all pianists without restriction. All participants will have the opportunity to advance to the finals, where they may play before the anonymous jury for a period of up to one hour.

Categories

The Recital Award is to be given for solo piano or chamber music including piano (piano duo, piano trio, piano quartet and/or piano quintet or piano and voice, etc.).

Times, Places, & Fees

Methods I & III (traditional audition format), Preliminary Auditions will take place at Pro Piano, 85 Jane Street, New York City, May25, 26, 27, 2001. The Final Round will be May 28, 2001, also at Pro Piano. For Method II, (artistic content intensive) an applicant may bypass the preliminary auditions and submit a professionally edited CD or DAT. Participants must file a proper application form for Methods I, II, and/or III, and submit $160.00 application fee by credit card or international money order in US dollars. There can be no refunds.

Methods I & III: Entry deadline is Midnight, May 23, 2001 (Postmark)
Method II: Entry deadline is Midnight, May 20, 2001 (Express Mail or Overnight Courier Assignment/Postmark)
